Derivatives
Derivatives, so called because these images have been derived form one or more source or processes and then combined onto a transparency. This procedure was commonly carried out before Digital Imaging was with us.
Most of the images in this section were created by either, sandwiching two transparencies together or, a sandwich of lith film (a high B/W contrast film), grain filters, and colour gels, combined with an original transparency. The result was then copied onto film via an Omar slide copier attached to the front of a 35 mm film camera.
The following examples have been scanned from original transparencies.
